Big shout-out to Aromas Foundation.

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

Aromas Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a better future for children in poverty. This corporate and social responsibility was originally developed from their restaurant chain Aromas del Peru, a family franchise business, established in Miami since 2003. All the restaurants Aromas del Peru are committed to the cause of the Aromas Foundation and, collaborating with others, has become their core philosophy.

At The Wine Chaser, we also believe in giving back so we are always partnering with Marita Astete, founder and president of Aromas Foundation, to collect funds so that we can help those in most need. Last week, along with Miss Universe Colombia, we had the chance to participate in a fundraiser which was not short of beautiful surprises. Personalities, press, doctors, entrepreneurs and many other generous invitees came to the event and, by contributing, made it an unforgettable soireé. Valeria Ayos, winner of Miss Universe Colombia this year, attended the event too in support of the foundation's mission.

Aromas Foundation provides food, first aid, book-bags and other school supplies, toys, clothes, dental supplies, financial assistance and medical services to children in need. The non-profit organization has impacted families from Peru, Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia and even Israel.

The Wine Chaser contributed as sponsor of the event presenting wines in such a special occasion from Vinicola Real, Anecoop Bodegas and Avelino Vegas.

Loriñon (by Vinicola Real) and Cellar Door Estate (by Anecoop Bodegas). Loriñon is of bright color, translucent with middle layer, with floral aromas (violets and raspberries), sweet spices, creamy oak and fine cacao. This is a very tasty Rioja wine, with a sweet soft feel and a fresh finish. Cella Door is a bit more intense wine, with cherry color, that reflects outstanding red fruit aromas with balsamic and resinous notes. L'Encert Cava, also by Anecoop, was the the elegant sparkling for those who preferred something on the bubbly side.

As mentioned, also two wines from Avelino Vegas Private Collection were featured: Vegas Red and Rosé. Both are remarkable due to their elegant finish so it's really no surprise that they were so well received especially when paired with the delicious hors d'oeuvre served at Aromas Del Peru.

We are very proud of being part of Aromas Foundation's efforts and goals and we hope, that in a short future, we can add more businesses to this kind of initiative because as someone once said: “A kind gesture can reach the wound that only compassion can heal.”

TV personality Carlos Adyan, from Telemundo, also attended and presented Miss Universe Colombia to the crowd.

“Para mi Colombia Unida, es aquella que alza su voz y que sabe que pese a las diferencias siempre se puede conciliar, siempre se puede hablar porque para cada problema hay múltiples soluciones así que si trabajamos unidos y nos enfocamos en el lenguaje del amor, podemos lograr y construir una Colombia Unida.”
