Anecoop Bodegas, a bottle for every taste.

Updated: Jan 18, 2023

It's Wednesday and The Wine Chaser is back!

If you are reading this, it's probably because you like wine as much as I do. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me if you knew about MUNDUS VINI, one of the most prestigious competitions on the world wine scene founded by Meininger Verlag. Great wines have defied the pandemic entering MUNDUS VINI for the 2021 spring tasting. Almost 3,000 wines from around the world were awarded at the 28th edition of the contest. It took place last March in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse -a town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany-.

The great qualities of the wines presented this year convinced the jury of experts, who blindly and professionally tasted 7,300 wines from 39 wine-producing countries. I bet you can imagine how outstanding a product needs to be as for taking a prize home. Anecoop Bodegas, the winery I am about to talk, has been recognized as the 'Best Producer of Spain' obtaining 43 medals this year, 20 gold and 23 silver. In 2019 Anecoop Bodegas had also ranked within the top 30 wineries of the world, according to the World Ranking Of Wines and Spirits.

Anecoop began marketing wine in 1986. The diversity of the wines produced by its member wineries (La Viña and Bodegas Reymos) in Valencia Designation of Origin, and in Navarre Designation of Origin (with Bodega San Martin De Unx), is one of the company’s major competitive advantages. Anecoop Bodegas' international recognition truly reaffirms their continuous effort to tailor wines to market trends while maintaining great quality. Currently, the winery exports to 42 countries. These exclusive, top quality products have boosted the image and outreach of the brand abroad growing sales significantly worldwide.

Our team is proud and happy to represent this winery in Florida specially after knowing that two of our portfolio products have recently won gold medals at MUNDUS VINI: Reymos and L'Encert.

Reymos is a sparkling Muscat made in Valencia. It differs from other sparkling by the processing method used, Charmat, much more natural. Thanks to its careful crafting, a creamy, dense and slightly sweet sparkling is created, with perfect balance between acidity and residual sugar content. This is a clean and bright wine with fine, persistent bubbles. Rich and elegant aromas of apricot and white raisins characteristic of the varietal are present. The high content of natural sugars does not conform to the traditional perception of sparkling wine, giving a feeling of fullness in the mouth. Persistent, sweet and very light finish. Reymos goes very well with appetizers, desserts, snacks, pâté or foie gras, chocolate, pie, nuts and oil seeds. It's also ideal for a moment of toast.

L'Encert is a brut that shows clear and bright yellow color, with fine and persistent bubbles. It's made with Malvasia and Merseguera. On the nose it brings wildflower, bitter almond, citrus, apple, peach, apricot. It gives very floral and refreshing notes, with elegant aromas of jasmine. You will probably find also notes of green apple, pear, citrus, honeysuckle, peach, apricot, white currant, apple and lemon. It is very well balanced in terms of acidity and has a light finish. In my opinion, Reymos is ideal for pairing with lighter dishes, seafood, and fish.

Flor de Unx Rosé and Flor de Unx Grenache are two other amazing products from this winery that you can now buy from several stores and restaurants in the city. Let them be my today's recommendation.

And that's a wrap!

Let's meet here next Wednesday to explore together the amazing world of wine. Until then... Santé!

The wines bring you to the Mediterranean! Both are tasty and amazing. I tried them with food and was astonished how good they pair, but also in a chill out afternoon session or even a wine-based cocktails are so extraordinary.

Good job!

Thanks for bringing them to Florida!

I had the pleasure of tasting these exquisite wines at the source, the winery itself! And this commentary is right on. These are lovely wines and perhaps more incredible is their value, top quality at affordable prices so no wonder this winery won all these awards!!!
